Fishing Lures to Bring!
You'll want to stock up on the traditional "Five of Diamonds" spoon.  They work excellent on the big pike of Lloyd Lake, but can also be deadly on early season Lakers.
Of course you can never go wrong with the basic red and white daredevil spoon!  Bring some other colors as well - they all catch big Pike year after year.
Rapalas, Jerk Baits, and other plugs catch just about everything at Lloyd Lake Lodge.  You'll want to bring a wide selection of these for the trip to Lloyd Lake.
Johnson Minnows, Silver Spoons and other wobble spoons imitate live bait fish and will catch just about every species of fish here at Lloyd Lake. Lake Trout really love them.
You'll get some guaranteed action from Mepps spinners.  Bring some of the larger size ones for the Pike, and the smaller ones will work dynamite on our Rainbows and Grayling.
Bring some deep running crankbaits and look forward to some good action all year long.  Walleye, Pike and Lakers all find these attractive.  Chartreuse is a great color up here.
You can't beat the heart stopping excitement of a top water strike.  Make sure to bring a variety of top water plugs, prop baits and maybe even some buzz baits.
Simple jigging spoons are a fail safe bait here at Lloyd Lake.  In the summer when the Lake Trout go deep, these are the baits that produce time and time again.
Like jigging spoons, simple jigs, such as the Bucktail, consistently catch fish all year long.  The number one jig for Walleye at Lloyd Lake Lodge is a Yellow Jig Head with Black Eyes and and a Yellow Plastic Tail.
Wigglers #2 and #3 work excellent on our spring and fall time Lakers.  Bring a variety of colors and sizes.
Use Barbless Hooks!
When fishing Lloyd Lake and surrounding lakes, we recommend that your lures be barbless. That means you may use pliers and pinch the barbs flat against the shank of the hook. It is not necessary to file the barb completely off or to replace your hooks with specially made hooks which do not have barbs in place.
