Spring bear hunts

Saskatchewan has been a famous bear hunting destination for many years. Record book black bears, colour phase bears, and just the sheer  number of bears — all of these have hunters returning again and again.

Until the spring of 2000, the Lloyd Lake Lodge area hadn't been hunted. During that first season, two hunters came. Each harvested a Pope & Young bear. For the spring 2001 season, 8 hunters came up. They harvested 8 bears, including 2 Pope & Young and 1 colour phase bear. The following years have been as good and getting better. Considering the size and number of the bears being seen, the potential is endless.

Spring black bear hunting starts near the end of May and usually runs for 6 weeks. To ensure trophy bears and plenty of opportunity for Pope & Young, Boone & Crocket, and colour phase bears, we only take a limited number of hunters. There will be no other hunters within a hundred miles guaranteed.

All sites are baited daily and monitored by trail camera. We welcome bow, muzzleloader, and rifle hunters.

Book early to avoid disappointment.
